    Can’t tell if my antidepressants are working a little too well or if this movie was predictable as heck. Anyway, it was fine. Was certainly happy to mark it off my list given I’d seen the others, but it’s nothing to write home about

    Last Rites is a solid entry in the mainline Conjuring verse and a gratifying conclusion to Ed and Lorraine's story. You can see in their performances that Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga have tremendous chemistry that shines through in every scene that they share,

    Honestly, it feels like the movie is trying really hard to feel important, even when it’s just being a typical Conjuring sequel. There are some effective scares and the focus on Judy gives it a nice emotional hook, but the story plays it pretty safe. It’s entertaining enough and looks good, just not especially memorable. Still, a fun horror night

    While this wasn’t my favorite movie in the franchise it was still good to see the Warrens at it again. Fighting evil. Saving innocent people from the darkness. Vera Farmiga, and Patrick Wilson are so good that I believed they were married in real life. Their chemistry is next level. I hope this is not truly the last movie because this Cinematic universe is one of the best. If it’s connected to the Conjuring Universe I am watching it.

    Just watched The Conjuring: Last Rites and honestly… it’s definitely the weakest one in the franchise. Relying on one symbol which is mirror felt lazy, and the same jump scares over and over started to get predictable. But hey, it’s still The Conjuring. We love this universe, and even if this one didn’t hit as hard as the others, we still had a fun time watching it. Sometimes just being back in that spooky world is enough. 👻

    You can see the love and care given to a proper Warren send-off, but the actual case, which is quite interesting and true, is given a regrettable back seat.

    What I’ve learned from these movies is that if you finish your basement and don’t have a creepy attic you are 87% less likely to be haunted by demons. I thought this was a fitting send off to the Conjuringverse, but I was informed this is actually just the end of Phase 1….. so I guess we have another dozen of these coming.

    I thought that it being the fourth movie in the series that it wasn't going to be as good, but I was wrong. This one might even be my favorite. I can't think of what movie it reminds me of.

    I was entertained, pretty good ending but I still believe the first movie is the best one, in the conjuring universe.
