Diretto da James GunnDopo essere stato abbandonato dalla moglie (Liv Tyler) per uno spacciatore di droga seduttore e psicopatico (Kevin Bacon), Frank (Rainn Wilson) si trasforma e diventa Saetta Purpurea. Con una tuta fatta a mano, una chiave inglese e un’assistente un po’ folle, Boltie (Ellen Page), Saetta Purpurea si fa strada tra le vie infernali del crimine nella speranza di salvare la moglie. - klit753 dicembre 2025If you're looking for a dark comedy, emphasis on the dark, and you like super heroes...look no further. This really blurs the lines between bravery and mental illness. Not a bad way to spend 90 minutes or so. I don't know much about this movie but wouldn't be surprised to find it has a strong cult status.
- Megan Cruz17 giugno 2025I know this film is somewhat controversial & it definitely tackles some pretty intense subject matter all around but I find its perspective to be so unique while simultaneously capturing the essence of 2010 so completely. The hyper violence & very time period accurate stylized quirk is juxtaposed incredibly well with the absurdity of the mundane plot to create a complex character study that has a lot to say about the culture of the time. I’m obsessed with Kevin Bacon & Liv Tyler in this film & the humor for the most part holds up incredibly well.

Unfortunately, it lacks the heart and character development of other films of its ilk (Kick Ass, Defendor, Deadpool, etc) that managed to be dark and gritty without leaving the audience feeling dirty and empty by the end.
