- Jacob O’Neal7 giugno 2025As fan films go, I can honestly say that I have seen far worse. The production value here was semi-decent. The acting was a bit stiff and the dialogue was cheesy. But the Spidey moments were spot on. What didn’t work was the constant mopey montages of Peter while music that sounds like knock off Mazzy Star or Cowboy Junkies plays. It feels more like the CW version of Spider-Man than a movie. I know that sounds a lot like I’m bagging on the movie. I’m not. Not totally. In fact, I really appreciate what it tried to do. The comic sometimes deal with heavy subjects that Disney and Sony are afraid to touch, like Tony Stark’s alcoholism for example. In this fan film, they took a lot of liberties with the comic story but delivered something closer to the pathos of the comic than any of the movies has been able to do. For that, I give this movie a lot of credit. It has a lot of flaws, but it manages to feel authentic and deserves credit for that.
