A zealous cognitive psychologist dedicates his life to university lecturing. While tinkering with one of his many experiments he stumbles across an unbelievable discovery-a way of communicating with the other side. His joy is short-lived, however, as his daughter is put into potentially grave danger and when all leads go cold, he takes matters into his own hands to find out the truth.

My quick rating - 4.5/10. They weren't entirely off the mark here. And for an indie picture, at times this was quite good. Minus the horrendous camerawork and dialogue that made even the actors wince. A couple loses their daughter tragically, and the husband, being the genius he is, decides to alter one of his projects into something to speak with the dead. I have seen this same movie a few times, and recently as well. Anyways, these sci-fi flix with communicating with the dead typically end with bad repercussions, and this one isn't much different. Being a fan of the whole idea, I will always allow a bit of leniency for the sake of entertainment, but the methods by which this whole communication idea was established were annoying. Loud pounding noises, lights flashing, quick editing for no reason, the list goes on. Still, without going into the plot too much, it did lead to an interesting twist towards the end. Not sure if the rest of the bland acting and evening demos of his invention to get to the end are all that worth it. Nor was I so surprised that it made it all worthwhile. The end came, and the movie was quickly forgotten. Maybe with a bit more time and not necessarily money, this could've been crafted a bit better, but the last-minute Hail Mary of an idea should've been used to a much better extent than it was. Definitely not the worst, just nothing I could recommend outside of major fans of the whole speaking with the dead idea.
