Pulse
Diretto da Kiyoshi KurosawaTaguchi, un giovane informatico, viene trovato morto nel suo appartamento. I suoi colleghi cercano di scoprire cosa possa aver spinto il loro amico a compiere un gesto tanto estremo. L'unica pista sembra condurre a un misterioso floppy, trovato nel computer di Taguchi, che contiene un virus pericolosissimo per chi lo utilizza. Altre numerose morti si susseguono, mentre c'è chi, collegandosi a internet, si ritrova su un misterioso sito in cui una voce gli propone di incontrare un fantasma. Gli eventi precipitano, strane presenze si manifestano in stanze sigillate con il nastro rosso, per l'umanità l'apocalisse della solitudine è ormai prossima.

We're all alone and looking for connection, but to find it is oblivion. This has aged well to an almost prescient level. Or maybe existential loneliness and isolation are so foundational to the human experience that this type of story will always resonate in that shared, empty, existence.
- samitc7 novembre 2025Enjoyed the film and ambiance generally speaking, but was having trouble understanding some of the connections as I watched it. It all makes sense in the end and the film is surprisingly prescient!
