Pillion is about the complexity of a submissive/ dominant relationship. The film succeeds when it focuses on family dynamics: Colin's (Melling) sweet and loving but stifling parents in contrast with Ray's (Skarsgård) extreme and wolf pack-like biker gang.

Not a lifestyle for me, but I've seen in the movie that some people crave it. It was really well explored. Definitely not a movie for children, as there were some nicely explicit sex scenes in it. Overall I enjoyed this movie a lot.
- M08Y16 gennaio 2026I appreciate Pillion but I don't necessarily like it. Pillion is one of those films where I see what they were going for, they achieved it but I just didn't vibe with it. Melling and Skarsgård are absolutely fantastic in their roles, I didn't think much of Melling before this but I shall be keeping an eye on him in future projects. To put it frankly, most of this film just made me uncomfortable. Just because it was intentional, doesn't make it an enjoyable viewing experience. There is surprisingly little bike stuff in this film. If you come here looking for cool biker stuff..... it's not what you are going to get! The audio and visuals are all fine. Nothing to report.

- Michael Morelli22 marzo 2026A brutal watch normalizing public displays of kink. I wanted to like this but…eww. EDIT: I wanted to add that I am happy that it exists because it depicts a part of the gay community that is often overlooked. Though, I'm still not sure if that's a good thing.

However- it is a well written and excellently performed film. There are several graphic sex scenes… however, they are not gratuitous and instead are key elements to the progression of the story and not there to shock or stimulate.

- HedonismBot30003 febbraio 2026The optimist in me wanted both a fairy tale ending and the pessimist in me wanted an edgy inside look at BDSM culture. In the end there wasn't much of a story line and it was pretty lackluster. There wasn't anything that represented a "takeaway" from the film. Nothing poignant, and Mr. Skarsgard wasn't nearly as attractive in this film as his previous celluloid exploits. That almost beard/no beard was distracting.
