Vicini alla sconfitta, agli abitanti della Terra non resta che affidarsi a due improbabili eroi: uno scapestrato ex pilota e un'inesperta allieva cui viene affidato un vecchio ma glorioso Jaeger. Saranno loro le ultime speranze del genere umano giunto ormai sull’orlo dell’Apolcalisse.
