Diretto da Stephen SommersOdd Thomas (Anton Yelchin) è un giovane cuoco di una tavola calda in una piccola città nel deserto americano, prescelto dagli esseri ultraterreni quale intermediario tra i due universi. Odd, che è perdutamente innamorato della bella Stormy Llewellyn (Ashley Sommers) cerca in tutti i modi di aiutare le anime senza pace che si mettono in contatto con lui. Anime che vogliono giustizia e che, a volte, lo aiutano a risolvere casi e crimini di ogni tipo. Tutto scorre sereno, fino all’arrivo nella cittadina di Pico Mundo di un uomo misterioso circondato da un gruppo di ombre che lo seguono ovunque vada. Neppure i fidi informatori di Odd sono in grado di capire chi sia. L’unico indizio è una pagina strappata da un calendario giornaliero, quella del 15 agosto…esattamente 24 ore dopo il giorno in cui si svolge la vicenda.

- Josh.51 gennaio 2026I feel like this could have done a better job of laying out the storyline. Things seem a bit butchered in places. The opening scenes seem too unbelievable. And at the end of it all, I dont understand – can he touch ghosts or can't he?

- Michael Johnson22 ottobre 2025This movie is good, though not quite as great as the book. It really should’ve been made into a series. That way, they wouldn’t have had to leave out so many important characters. That said, for a runtime of just an hour and forty minutes, they did a great job with the time they had. It feels like a mix between Stranger Things and the American version of Dirk Gently, but it actually predates both by about three years. Overall, it’s worth watching for the writing alone.
