Dove guardare Occult
- Patrick Wai26 settembre 2026Occult does one thing extremely well: it feels like a real documentary. The natural acting, cheap video and almost student-film look actually work in its favor, and there are some interesting ideas about miracles, religious obsession and cosmic forces manipulating ordinary people. Unfortunately, it is painfully slow. I kept waiting for all those strange little events to build toward something worthwhile, and after nearly two hours, the ending wasn't enough of a payoff. In fact, the cheesy effects almost work against the realism the movie spent so long establishing. It's easy to see the similarities to Shiraishi's Noroi, but Noroi weaves its clues into something much more satisfying. Occult has some of the same ingredients without the same recipe. Interesting experiment, but sorry, not recommended.
- Nyxus_28 novembre 2025There were a lot of really cool ideas that slowly pieced together, reminiscent of Noroi: The Curse... but ultimately, the payoff was not worth it. Very disappointing ending, but the journey was fun.
