- eif9999 luglio 2025Barbara Steele has a face the camera loves. Her chiseled cheekbones, deer eyes, fat lower lip. It's hard not to stare. I swore I saw this one before. That's probably because it is so similar to other Steele horrors. You know. Black and white, castle, Barbara doppelgangers, mad doctor. It's a satisfying gothic horror even still. Has anyone made a list of Italian horror films featuring people having sex in greenhouses? There are some things I just couldn't square: What are the chances stepsisters would be identical? The doctor makes his ancient maid/nanny/whatever young again - and drop dead beautiful - but doesn't seem to realize that procedure even if it involves human blood would make him a billionaire. Instead he obsesses over a convoluted plan to get his dead wife's money. What a dummy. I kind of think maybe I'm losing something in the translation.

Stephen Arrowsmith è un dottore senza scrupoli che tradisce sua moglie Muriel con l'assistente Solange. Muriel a sua volta tradisce il dottore con David, il giardiniere.
