Una notte la tranquillità del quartiere in cui vive viene interrotta dall'arrivo di un uomo e di una dodicenne pallida e ambigua che sembra non conoscere freddo e paura. Con l'arrivo dei nuovi inquilini dell'appartamento di fianco al suo, una serie di efferati omicidi iniziano a macchiare il paesaggio innevato e ben presto Oskar scopre che Eli, con la quale nel frattempo ha stretto una tenera amicizia, altri non è che un vampiro imprigionato in eterno in un corpo da bambina.

- Lorem ipsum30 ottobre 2025If you’re looking for a slow, lo-fi horror to whisp along in the background, this is an ideal option. This Swedish original is more love story than horror, and most of the horror is how disturbing the life of the latchkey main character is, as he navigates the toxicity of school bullies and despondent parents. I enjoy how spooky and creepy it is, the plot floating softly like snowfall as we watch every predicament unfold further and further into fantasy. It rides the rails of love story, though, while never letting us fall in love with any of the characters. The one thing I can’t get enough of is how the production quality and wardrobe do such a perfect job of making the early 80s feel palpable again, and not glitzed up a la Stranger Things.

Absolutely loved it’s inclusion of the many aspects of classic vampire lore while keeping the focus on the characters first. I’m about as close to a 5-star rating as I get on a first watch. Completely and pleasantly surprised. Highly recommend.
- marengo8 giugno 2025I first saw this at a $1 showing in Las Vegas and it turned out to be the most memorable event of the whole vacation. What a magical vampire movie that can overcome a loud projector and crappy seating. Loved the experience.
