The cast is likable, the dialogue is surprisingly funny, and the movie knows exactly when to get out of its own way and let a giant crocodile cause some chaos. It's not particularly scary, and some of the effects definitely show their age, but the movie has enough charm to carry it through. What really works is how comfortable it is being a B-movie. It never tries to convince you it's some serious horror classic. Instead, it leans into the absurdity, has fun with the premise, and ends up being far more entertaining because of it. The story is pretty basic and there's not much depth to the characters, but that's easy to forgive when the movie is this easy to sit back and enjoy.
- cat_pack27 dicembre 2025This is an amazing movie filled with action and A LOT of funny moments/quick wit. Especially with Betty White such as: "I'm rooting for the crocodile. I hope he swallows your friends whole." Betty: "My husband passed away. It's been years now." Officer: " My department doesn't have any record of that, Mrs. Bickerman." Betty:" Well, I'm sorry. Incomplete records haunt me so." Just do yourself a favor and pretend the sequels don't exist because they're absolutely awful
- James Saenz12 dicembre 2025“if i had a dick, this is where i’d tell you to suck it.” genuinely why is the worst character the main one advocating for the safety of the crocodile? oh that’s right because even in fiction law enforcement sucks. i miss when movies felt like movies. this is shot on location, there’s intention behind the shots, and the climactic final showdown is kicked off with a flying cow set to a triumphant score. that’s the good shit. plus the practical croc looks absolutely amazing and the cgi is honestly pretty decent even by today’s standards. rip betty white you’re an absolute legend.
- dangerfiel86 ottobre 2025After a recent rewatch I'm can say my uncomfortable feeling i got from this film as a teenager remains. Now I can comfortably say I know the reason, this film doesn't know what tone it wants to take. The cast is great, and the animatronic croc is worth the price of admission but the tone doesn't quite hit a horror comedy level you might expect. Its a 90s time capsule that can be fun.

Kelly Scott è una paleontologa che è stata mandata nel Maine a esaminare il dente di un animale che ha divorato vivo un sub. È una missione senza senso: si tratta di un espediente del suo capo e fidanzato che ha intrecciato una relazione con un'altra e vuole liberarsi di lei. Jack Wells, l'agente incaricato del caso, non capisce perché Kelly resti lì, visto che il dente l' ha esaminato e tanto varrebbe che se ne tornasse a casa sua. Passa qualche giorno e altre persone muoiono in circostanze misteriose, mentre uno studioso un po' eccentrico. Il motivo della sua venuta è che secondo lui il responsabile delle uccisioni è un enorme coccodrillo cacciatore di uomini, misteriosamente arrivato fino a quel lago nel Maine. Il gruppo scopre poi che sulla riva del lago vive un'anziana signora che, da anni, nutre il coccodrillo di dieci metri arrivato un giorno sulla riva del lago davanti a casa sua.
