Lavrik is transported to Moscow in 1913 and begins hunting for an artifact located in the Bridal Cashier's Office, a bank where dowries are accumulated. But Varya, a principled woman who is also a member of the Cashier's Office and has a keen sense of deception, seeks to ruin Lavrik's plans. Lavrik devises a plan to outwit Varya and, with her help, pull off the scam.
