- MR_BigTime4 agosto 2026At the beginning, I was expecting Enola Holmes to be more of the women-can-do-anything-a-man can-and-do-it-better variety, but no. The film both mocks and validates different perspectives while bringing genuinely fun and funny bits to the table, showing it doesn't really care for one more than the other. Breaking the fourth wall throughout was also a plus for me, because it was done so well. There's ridiculousness all around, but that's kind of the point, isn't it? Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill, and Helena Bonham Carter did not disappoint, either. The rest of the cast was pretty good as well. I've watched it twice and would watch it again.

Positives: - The movie is well made, well directed, well shot, well edited, and well paced - The movie looks great and definitely masters the 1800 look and feel - The score is really good and doesn’t get talked about enough - The plot is simple but intriguing - The performances are pretty good - I enjoy a lot of the characters - There are some fun action sequences - There is a pretty good twist at the end of the movie and all of the detective stuff is executed very well Negatives: - It’s a pretty generic story - The movie feels like it’s a movie made for 8 year olds with some of the cheesy moments and dialogue Overall this is far from a fantastic movie but it’s a harmless fun movie.

I definitely enjoyed this one and found the asides directly to the audience by Millie Bobby Brown were a nice touch. Here she plays Enola, and while searching for her missing mother (Helena Bonham Carter), the intrepid teen uses her sleuthing skills to outsmart big brother Sherlock (Henry Cavill) and help a runaway lord. The mystery is aimed at a bit lower target audience than a Knives Out audience, but it is still plenty of fun.
