Diretto da Guy HamiltonIl comandante James Bond, alias agente 007 del servizio segreto inglese, ha appena portato a termine una difficile missione, che subito, gli viene affidato il compito di scoprire gli organizzatori e le ragioni di una misteriosa incetta di diamanti, che minaccia di sconvolgere il mercato. Assunta l'identità di Peter Franks, uno dei corrieri della banda, Bond non tarda a individuarne il capo, la bella Tiffany Case, la cui organizzazione, pero', sta da qualche tempo subendo gli attacchi di sconosciuti avversari, che uccidono i contrabbandieri e s'impossessano dei diamanti. Divenuta Tiffany, cui egli ha rivelato la propria identità, sua alleata, Bond scopre, dopo aver evitato due volte di venire ucciso, che i diamanti trafugati all'organizzazione di Case sono finiti in un laboratorio spaziale, e utilizzati nella costruzione di un satellite, che sta per essere lanciato in orbita.

- LivewireAdmin8 dicembre 2025Diamonds Are Forgettable. By this one the Bond/Blofeld rivalry has completely run its course. Blofeld is now resorting to body doubles that have received surgery to look like him and using voice changers on the phone to construct his evil plans—it's not quite Bond at its silliest (that comes during Moore's run) but its right on the edge. Good Bond girls in this one—Jill St. John is great as Tiffany Case and love interest to Bond and Lana Wood as Plenty O'Toole steals the show for the few scenes she's in. Bond in Vegas is about as interesting as you'd think it would be. It's more Smokin' Aces than Ocean's Eleven. The car chase was well filmed for the time but that was about it in terms of the exciting parts of the movie. The oil rig finale is sub-par and the antics Bond gets up to while in the desert are equally mundane. Breaking in to penthouse suites, crashing through a moon landing set and being buried alive in a pipeline—Connery wasn't phased by any of it so neither was I lol Not the ideal way to hang up his 00 status but all in all, he had a great run.

The plot starts with revenge and diamonds, then somehow turns into a story about a space laser and multiple Blofelds — it’s wacky, confusing, and all over the place. There’s fun to be had in the campy Vegas setting and a few classic Bond moments, but the script can’t decide if it’s serious or a spoof. Entertaining in a “what am I watching?” kind of way, but definitely one of the stranger Bond films

- The_Holmes22 maggio 2025If Bill & Ted made a movie... This movie is so awful that after 30 minutes you realize how bad it is and start to laugh at its awfulness. The opening scene shows you all you need to know. Shift gears if you want to watch this - I'd say watch it with a crowd of friends after many beers and laugh at how stupid it is, that it even counts as a Bond film. 3 stars is an average of awfulness and stupidness - best I can do.
- cyberbillp14 aprile 2025The film starts with Bond pounding his way through a litanny of informants and low lifes on a rage filled quest for vengance after the death of his wife in the last Bond installment (On Her Majesty's Secret Service). But in short order he seems to forget his rage during, and up to, his encounter with Blofeld (Bonds' Nemesis whom is responsible for murdering his wife Tracy). Outside of this plotline, I gotta say, this movie is kind of a mess. I never did understand why the couple of dudes were following the jewels around and murdering everybody they touched. Why didn't they just carry the jewels themselves? The movie is filled with ridiculous contrivances such as having to pretend you are playing a carnival game, that's rigged, just so you can win a teddy bear with the jewels inside. The whole movie is filled with impractical contrivances like this. As far as Bond movies go, this is a low point in my book. It is of course essential viewing if you are watching the series. Roger Moore takes over for the next film. George Lazenby did the last one. So in three films in a row, we have three different Bonds. 2.5 stars is being generous.
