- TheDesertLad3 settembre 2026An absolutely excellent film about of all things the Germans in World War II. Handling the characters as actual cogs in the machine that is often missing in other war films.

- Rob MacKinnon27 febbraio 202680’s Blind Spots & Selected Rewatches Year by Year No. 56 I always loved the SCTV parody of this film, even though I had never seen the original. “Das Boobs” was a mashup of “Das Boot” and “Porky’s”, in which the German navy has gone co-ed, and the sailors attempt to help “Pee Wee” (Martin Short) lose his virginity while serving on the u-boat. Hilarious. The real movie is gripping, intense and suspenseful. Extremely well made. I watched the 3.5 hour director’s cut in German with English subtitles.
- The_Holmes22 maggio 2025Referring to the Directors Cut which is 3.5 hours long: Way too long and repetitively brutal and harsh. Wears you out. Haven't seen the theatrical, but try that one cuz this is too much.
