Giulia, una giovane e spensierata ereditiera, avrebbe di tutto per essere felice. Purtroppo scopre di avere un tumore al cervello che la condanna inesorabilmente. La operano, ma l'intervento serve solo a prolungarle di poco la vita. Il chirurgo che ha effettuato l'intervento si innamora di lei, ma essa, sospettando che non sia sincero, non vuole sposarlo.
