- M08Y21 gennaio 2026A pretty generic disaster movie with an excellent cast and FANTASTIC special effects. Dante's peak is, on paper, a fairly underwhelming film. Coming out at a time where disaster movies were pretty commonplace, it needed something special to stand out. To stand out from it's competition, Dante's Peak relies HEAVILY on miniatures to really bring the disaster to life and it really does look amazing. The other aspect that elevates Dante's Peak to "memorable" status is the cast. Brosnan and Hamilton are excellent here and genuinely seem to enjoy working together. The support cast are all fine and even the annoying characters are redeemed. For some reason, it took over 1 year from ordering the 4K bluray to it showing up at my house, but it was worth the wait. This might be one of my favorite discs. The special effects, being done with miniatures, lend themselves very well to the 4K treatment. Combined with a good transfer, the picture quality is truly something to behold. The audio was pretty good too. Overall an excellent 4K experience.
