Diretto da Michael MannLos Angeles, atmosfera sincopata. Max, tassista modello, compie una corsa con un procuratore donna che avrebbe dovuto discutere un caso in tribunale la mattina successiva. Immediatamente dopo, un nuovo cliente, Vincent, che gli fa una proposta allettante, accompagnarlo per l'intera notte in cambio di 700 dollari. Max si fa convincere, senza sapere che da quel momento avrebbe iniziato un viaggio allucinante. Vincent è infatti un killer di professione che deve regolare i conti con cinque persone, una delle quali, a sua insaputa, sta a cuore al conducente di taxi.

I've never been to LA, but this movie makes me feel like I have. It takes early digital technology and masterfully executes it.

I would rate it a little higher if it wasn't a weak in the script department on a few things here and there and have some cheesy tropes, and some weird pacing at times... but the action, the tension, and the deep conversations between Cruise and Foxx hit hard.

Its strength lies in a grounded realism on screen mixed with diligent work by people off screen (sound design, editing & cinematography). Also Tom Cruise has become action movie royalty by this point in his career.
