    Well done taught thriller a true story, holds on until the end, another fine performance by Tom Hanks.

    I love true stories that are done well, and this movie, most certainly, is done well. Tom Hanks excels at what he does best. What I really appreciated was how the Pirates were represented. It showed their desperation and their physical, emotional and ethical struggles. “I am just a fisherman.”

    Nice acting by T. Hanks (of course) but it’s kind of a dull movie.

    High tensions and an incredible true story. Hanks puts in a master class of acting. Abdi was also outstanding. Scary circumstances.

    Oh my god. It's castaway except Tom Hanks does even less. Also I felt kind of seasick by the end Probably not a a great story to turn into a film

    Thought the was movie was going to be a black and while hero's tale, it was not. The director did a great job of presenting a movie with lots of gray areas. The pirates were human, not mindless monsters looking for a payday. Tom Hanks displayed his acting skills playing Captain Phillips. Didn't think I would enjoy this movie based on the subject mater. It proved me wrong!

    I dont think this is some powerful masterpiece of film but can recognize it is a solid and well written movie. I enjoyed it a lot more than I remember from its first watch. Not something to lean into yearly but I can see myself giving it another go in 2 to 3 years. Tom as always brings it home and our guy Barkhad does a great job as his opposition.

    A dramatised version of events surrounding Captain Philips when he was pirated. From what i have heard other than the name of the captain it is about 100% BS, but hey, it is still a very good watch
