- Paul Walsh1 g faDefinitely a weird viewing. I overall enjoyed the film but can see how the movie may be polarizing. As far as this director's past movies go, this is quite possibly his most accessible endeavor.

At the same time, this is an often-insane dark comedy that kept me on the edge of my seat and provided one of the most fascinating experiences of the year. Lanthimos is in his bag with the visuals, cinematography, and ability to get the best out of two top-tier actors. Where we ultimately wind up will frustrate some, but the way this film approaches the journey was far more entertaining than even I expected.
- eyeofthetornado1 g faIn Bugonia, delusion & paranoia isn’t a theme it’s oxygen. And in that suffocating atmosphere, Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons deliver performances that cut like glass. Emma Stone’s Michelle is ice over lava composed, surgical, but vibrating with buried fury. She turns stillness into menace. Every glance feels like a verdict. Jesse Plemons, as Teddy, is devastating a walking catalog of trauma. He doesn’t just portray damage; he embodies accumulation. Every twitch, every pause carries history. You don’t watch Teddy unravel, you witness someone who was never given the tools to be whole. Don is perhaps the film’s quiet tragedy, a victim of his own pacifism. His refusal to escalate becomes complicity in his own erasure. In a world spiraling into extremity, neutrality is fatal. And Michelle “ CEO”, ruling The Earth herself. The film whispers its thesis through her: just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean you’re not being followed. The dread is earned. The madness feels… reasonable. Bugonia doesn’t scream. It stares. And it doesn’t blink.

- DOAN FSD2 gg faBugonia was pretty good and it had me guessing and changing sides a lot. There are some impressive and extremely expressive shots that add to the raw intensity of this picture. There were a few things I didn't care for, but nothing to the point of me thinking it was a bunch of rubbish. Bugonia was great craftsmanship.

Plemons and Stone bouncing off each other is pure pleasure from their deadpan volleys to the way each scene seems to tilt depending on who’s holding the power in the moment. I’m so glad I caught this in a theater, because it looks fantastic. The production design and those slightly skewed Yorgos compositions just pop on a big screen. And I loved that ending. From the moment Plemons teleports to the final shot, it’s Yorgos fully speaking my language. It’s strange, playful, and weirdly triumphant.

- Joe G27 gennaio 2026This is what The Killing of a Sacred Deer attempted to accomplish. The metaphor here is heavy-handed in the best possible way, pushed so far that it becomes destabilizing. At no point is it entirely clear whether the main character believes what he’s saying, is constructing the story for his idiot cousin, or is fully deluded by grief. That ambiguity is the point. What’s most unsettling is how often rational viewers will find themselves agreeing with him anyway. The film quietly exposes how thin the line is between delusion and clarity when systems are so obviously broken. Beneath the absurdity is a blunt message: we have far more in common with one another than with our corporate, alien, managerial overlords pretending to be human. It’s sharp, uncomfortable, and deeply controlled, the kind of film that doesn’t soften its intent for accessibility. Likely to be overlooked, but it shouldn’t be. This deserves to be considered among Yorgos Lanthimos’s best work. I’m a little tired of Emma Stone and think they need a break from working together though.
