Il piccolo Jacob McCandles viene rapito da una banda di fuorilegge che hanno assalito la fattoria della sua famiglia e chiedono un riscatto milionario. Marta, la nonna, decide di rivolgersi al marito Jake, dal quale vive separata da 15 anni; questi è ancora un tipo vigoroso, a dispetto dell'età.     Another classic Duke Wayne flick! If you look at the cast closely you will see actors that have been in previous Wayne films. That is the secret to the success of John Wayne films. Consistency through a good supporting cast, including two of Duke's sons Patrick and Ethan.
