- Patrick Wai19 aprile 2026Watching Scott Adkins stomp around in gangster cosplay, complete with grills, is half the fun here, because Avengement knows exactly what it is: a brutal, straight-ahead revenge movie with a lot of ass-kicking and very little patience for subtlety. Adkins plays the antihero well, a man set up by his own brother, broken by prison, and unleashed to settle accounts the old-fashioned way, with fists, boots, and broken furniture. What I like most about his movies is that he never feels like some invincible superhero; yes, he can wreck a room full of guys, but he comes out of it looking like he actually survived a war, not a spa day. The plot is simple, the violence is plentiful, and the prison scenes are especially vicious, but that simplicity works because Adkins knows his lane: keep the dialogue within range, let the rage do the acting, and then kick the living hell out of everyone in sight. Honestly, if anyone ever makes a live-action GTA movie, this performance is basically his audition tape.
