Renowned conflict journalist Kathleen (Kat) Jacobs returns home to Johannesburg after a near-fatal incident in the Congo cuts her assignment short. While incomplete, her assignment is still a success: she discovers an incredible scoop. When Kat pitches the story to her editor, he turns her down--a strange decision for a man who's always on the hunt for a great story.
