GanglIt is nine years since William the Conqueror defeated the Saxons at the Battle of Hastings and claimed the English crown, but it is war and revolt that rule England in 1075. Saxon nobles incite rebellion while foreign armies look for their own gains in a divided country. For Holden, the bitterness still runs too deep when his thegn calls the Saxon fyrd to fight for their Norman king. Holden and his brother Eldin must serve their country's conqueror as they face battle led by the wrathful bishop Geoffrey de Montbray. The wounds of 1066 have not healed, and the future of a nation is threatened by the ever-present past. The conquest of England is still incomplete.
