Ironheart

Ironheart
"Hood".
As a lifelong nerd who has been reading comics from the 1960s through the 2010s (and yeah, I’m 35), I have realized that being a nerd has become so mainstream that it opened the doors to people who do not really understand what these worlds are about. Gaming and comics used to come from passion, knowledge, and respect for the source. Now it often feels watered down.
I read the original Ironheart stories and the runs with Riri Williams, and she was great in the comics. Here, they made her feel unbelievably dumb and shallow. For someone who is supposed to surpass one of the greatest geniuses in the Marvel universe, the portrayal was painful. Instead of intelligence and depth, we got a caricature that leaned too hard into stereotypes, and that honestly sucks.
What really killed it for me was the tech. Movies and shows love to make technology look “cool” without explaining anything. As someone who works in cybersecurity, I hate that lazy writing. Suddenly there’s a USB that can destroy the world. No logic, no explanation, no effort. Just nonsense.
I’m Hispanic and Black, and I want real representation, not characters written just to please a demographic. That’s why Miles Morales works. He feels authentic. Falcon is also an amazing character, but forcing him into Captain America because someone saw a cover and ignored the actual story behind it is a damn shame. Representation matters, but only when it’s done with respect, intelligence, and understanding of the source material.
