At its heart is a boy who feels invisible in his own family until he stumbles into a time-hopping crew of self-proclaimed master thieves. From the Stone Age to Ancient Egypt, he’s thrust into one misadventure after another, learning history the hard (and hilarious) way. Heaven and Hell squabble over him like rival parents, each trying to win his allegiance for their own ends, while his sister trails behind, exasperated but loyal. The mismatched crew who guide him — think the love-child of Monty Python and Doctor Who — constantly insist they’re the greatest team in history, even as they barely survive their own schemes. It’s a clever modernisation of the original’s charm: vibrant, goofy, and surprisingly heartfelt, though it never quite reaches the wit or bite of its predecessor. Still, it’s an easy watch, bursting with energy and just enough magic to make you wish you could tag along. 🍹 Best paired with a citrus mocktail spiked with sherbet — fizzy, nostalgic, and a little too sweet for its own good, just like the show itself.
