- Dario Tibay14 juin 2026The Walking Dead remains one of the defining horror dramas of the 2010s, even if its long run eventually turned into a test of viewer endurance. The early seasons are still its strongest: the hospital opening, the Atlanta camp, Hershel’s farm, the prison, Woodbury, Terminus, and Alexandria all work because each location asks a different survival question. Rick Grimes starts as a lawman trying to carry civilisation inside him, while characters like Daryl, Carol, Michonne, Glenn, Maggie, Hershel, and Morgan give the show its emotional weight. The later years are more uneven. The Negan and Saviours stretch has strong ingredients but runs too long, and after Glenn’s death the show sometimes feels as if it mistakes trauma for momentum. It recovers some atmosphere with the Whisperers and finds moments of grace in the final season, especially with Rosita, Maggie, Daryl, Carol, and the Rick/Michonne tease. But the ending is also clearly a franchise hand-off, with spin-offs waiting in the wings. Worth watching, especially the first half, and still a major zombie-TV landmark. Just don’t be surprised if your enthusiasm limps a bit before the finish line.

Characters and story were truly grounded and believable and were beautifuly representing the diversity of human personalities But then it unfortunately goes downhill from season to season with braindead gunfights were nobody get hit and uselessly long episodes with nothing to say
