Tehran (Season 1) – Much Ado About Nothing Rating: ⭐⭐ (2/5) - "Straight to the garage closet" If you're looking for an edge-of-your-seat espionage series, Tehran might seem like a good choice at first, but it ends up being a failed mission in every way. After watching all 8 episodes of this first season, my conclusion is simple: it's a waste of time. What started with an interesting infiltration premise quickly turned into a boring plot that spins around the same axis without really moving anywhere. What left me with a bitter taste: * Lack of resolution: There is nothing more frustrating than spending hours on a story only to have the ending literally be a mission failure. You feel that the characters learned nothing and that you, as a viewer, wasted your time. * Slow pace: The series feels heavy. There are moments that try to be tense but end up being boring and repetitive. * The "Filling Effect": What they could tell in 3 chapters, they stretched it to 8 to end in a cliffhanger that does not generate emotion, but rather fatigue. Final Verdict: This series just earned a VIP spot in my "garage dark closet," right next to other duds like The Cleaning Lady and Tracker. If you have absolutely anything else to see, do it. Tehran is my last option; the one I would only choose if the internet ran out and I didn't have a single book at hand. My advice? Save yourself the time and 8 hours. It's not worth the mental block it leaves you with.

I very much like the surprisingly unbiased (though still definitely Israeli) take on the unending conflict between Iran and Israel. It's a unique premise that thoroughly deserves credit. Unfortunately, the first season of this premise is just an utter waste of the audience's time. It's difficult to form any attachment to a protagonist when all they have to offer you is failure after failure, strung together with literal hours of insipid filler. I'll give it another chance for the second season, but wow this was a legendary fumble.
