It opens on a bleak note — loss, conflict, and a galaxy teeming with alien politics — and while the tone lightens as it goes, it never fully escapes its own gravity. The result is a perfectly fine sci-fi drama that checks all the boxes: starfighters, intrigue, mysterious powers, and a dash of interspecies tension that wants to say something profound about prejudice but never quite finds the words. The show toys with themes of identity and belonging, but rather than delivering big revelations, it often coasts on familiar tropes. The cast gives it a solid effort, and the occasional twist keeps things interesting, but nothing here lingers once the credits roll. With only two seasons to tell its story, it feels like a series that ran out of runway before takeoff — or perhaps never found its heading to begin with. Pandora isn’t a crash, just a quiet drift. Enjoyable enough while you’re watching, but gone from memory faster than light speed. Pairing: A lukewarm instant coffee — serviceable, mildly energising, and forgotten by the time you’ve reached the bottom of the cup.
