- PhysicalMedia4Life-3 jWith the recent passing of the late & great Sam Neill. I thought it would be fitting to review a movie of his, that imo is his most underrated & overlooked. This 2 episode Mini-Series is the best movie adaptation of Merlin that I've ever seen. It felt like Sam Neill was born to play the role of Merlin. He's absolutely phenomenal as the iconic wizard!! And all of the acting from all of the other main & side characters is absolutely fantastic all across the board as well. I love the whole fantasy & mythology elements to it as well. This looks and feels like a high budget movie from a big movie studio, not a 2 part made for TV Mini-Series. From the groundbreaking special effects to the polished looking cinematography! Merlin is Sam Neill's Hidden Gem 💎 a 💯 It has great pacing, great dialogue that's delivered with such conviction & meaning from Sam Neill especially. And at the heart of it has a very good story and character developments & arcs. I also love the whole production design & aesthetic to this hidden classic. The Merlin 1998 Mini-Series if you haven't seen it before pleeeeeease 🙏 watch it; it's the best adaptation of Merlin that you'll ever see without a doubt its awesome!!!
