Jericho was one of those rare shows that captured the small-town perspective of a post-apocalyptic event perfectly. Watching how a community coped with isolation, fear, shifting alliances, and scarce resources was compelling from the very first episode. The cast was spot-on, especially the leads, who grounded the series with relatable emotion and grit. The near-present setting meant the show didn’t rely heavily on special effects—its strength was always the characters and the unfolding mystery of what happened to the rest of the country. But like many fans, I was eagerly waiting for the world of Jericho to expand outward. As the story finally began branching beyond the town’s borders, the series was just hitting its stride. You could feel the larger narrative building: conspiracies, fractured states, new governments, and the bigger picture behind the attacks. Unfortunately, it didn’t get the seasons it needed to grow. Jericho had solid writing, great characters, and enormous potential—cut short far too soon.
