Willis Yu est un acteur râté qui joue dans une série policière. Le jeune homme vit dans un coin minable de Chinatown et s'embourbe dans un quotidien monotone. Un jour, il est témoin d'un meurtre et sa vie change du tout au tout : il découvre la pègre du quartier Chinois et lui qui rêvait de gloire, devient le centre d'attention de tous. Il réalise alors qu'il n'est pas facile de trouver sa place en tant qu'américain d'origine chinoise.
