A turd in magic hour lighting. It only gets a star because of the fantastic performance of Kevin Kline who elevates really awful middle class material which is badly plotted, researched and executed. Lubetski has decided that every scene has to be sunset, even in London where we rarely see sun. It feels like a cheap novel an office worker would read on the tube to work, with cheesy acting and overly emotional music. Apart from the fact that at it's core it doesn't make any sense whatsoever, and is completely preposterous. A very thin premise to hang a thriller on indeed. But Kline earns that star and I wish he would be in more films. he is superb! Worth enduring for his performance.
