Jessica Alba absolutely owns it in her breakout role as Max, a genetically enhanced fugitive with an attitude and a motorcycle. The first season is slick and full of cool world-building, and while season two got a little weird, it is still a fun ride. Bonus points for spotting a super young Michael Weatherly (Tony from NCIS) before he ever put on a badge. Stylish, fast, and very 2000s. Definitely worth a watch.

It had that unmistakable “appointment TV” feeling, when you’d actually plan your evening around catching the next episode instead of binge watching everything in one go. Rewatching it now, you can see the age in the effects and the pacing, but honestly, that’s part of the charm. The characters still work, the world still pulls you in and the whole thing has a kind of sincerity modern shows rarely bother with anymore. It’s not just nostalgia, the series genuinely holds up. It reminds me of a different era of TV, when things were a bit rougher around the edges but had far more personality. Watching it again brings back that sense of who I was back then and what made the show stand out in the first place.
