    A Charming Medical Comedy with Small-Town Warmth - Best Medicine is an enjoyable medical comedy-drama about a brilliant but socially difficult surgeon who leaves Boston to become a doctor in a small Maine town. Josh Charles brings dry humour and vulnerability to Dr Martin Best, making the character frustrating yet surprisingly likeable. The eccentric residents and warm community atmosphere give the series much of its charm and emotional appeal. Although its storytelling can feel familiar and predictable, the balance of medical cases, comedy, and personal relationships keeps it engaging. Overall, Best Medicine is a comforting and entertaining adaptation of Doc Martin that works well as light-hearted television.

    I've watched one episode so far, and I can only say is that it's a very poor imitation of Doc Martin. Also, what a bare-faced cheek for the distribution company to call this a "Fox Original"!

    It has a few funny moments here and there, but the entire show revolves around the old tropes of people not attempting even the most basic communication to further the plot. The characters are overly simplistic and overly flawed to the point of stupidity. I lasted a few episodes then just couldn't get drunk enough to see past the lazy writing for the sake of entertainment.
