After a solid but familiar pilot, the second episode clicked in a way that immediately left me wanting more. The chemistry between Karl Urban’s gruff, guarded detective and Michael Ealy’s empathetic, near-human android partner became the heart of the show, elevating what could have been a standard procedural into something far more engaging. The world-building—a near-future society filled with clever tech, ethical dilemmas, and criminal innovation—felt rich with potential, hinting at storylines the series sadly never had the chance to explore. Its blend of action, humour, and thoughtful sci-fi themes kept me invested right up to its abrupt cancellation. Even though it only lasted one season, I still find myself returning to binge it from time to time, imagining what might have been if it had been given room to grow. Almost Human remains a short-lived gem with a lot of heart.

Dans un futur proche, la police de Los Angeles emploie des androïdes à la plastique semblable aux humains. John Kennex perd un de ses collègues et sa jambe lors d'une mission piège tendue par la mystérieuse organisation, le Syndicat. Après dix-sept mois de coma, le policier s'efforce de rassembler ces souvenirs dans l'espoir de pouvoir venger son ami et retrouver sa bien-aimée disparue. Entre temps, il lui faut reprendre du service. Son retour est d'autant plus difficile qu'il lui faut faire équipe avec un de ces robots très attachés au règlement. Lui est alors exceptionnellement assigné un ancien modèle, retiré du service après quelques quelques défaillances...
