- flavo4324 novembre 2025Agent Aika is an anime with a surprisingly intriguing world, strong production values, and some genuinely well-executed action scenes. The animation quality is high for its era, and the premise—an underwater post-apocalyptic world filled with salvage operations, secret organizations, and high-stakes battles—offers plenty of potential. In many ways, it should have been a standout sci-fi adventure. But the fanservice, while tolerable at first, quickly becomes excessive and repetitive to the point of overshadowing the plot. What begins as a stylistic flourish soon turns into a distraction, undermining the tension, character development, and world-building the series does well. With the right balance, Agent Aika could have been a genuinely great anime rather than a guilty pleasure. Fortunately, some of its promise carried into later entries in the franchise, which toned down the excess and focused more on story and character. Those improvements show what the original could have achieved with a more measured approach.
