Alcides Nogueira Pinto is a Brazilian playwright and telenovela. From a traditional family, his father being a doctor and also a writer, Alcides grew up in a cultured environment, having learned to read and write before starting to attend school. At first, he dreamed of becoming a diplomat, but he ended up graduating in law at the Faculty of Law of the University of São Paulo, with a postgraduate degree in copyright law. He won the International Emmy for Best Telenovela in 2011 for O Astro.
