- Kevin Ward6 juillet 2025Filipina ate. Triangle of Sadness wasn’t really clicking with me for the first couple acts. Harsh criticisms of the super rich and powerful are always welcome, but literally shitting on them for 20 minutes straight felt rather puerile and a bit on the nose. But enter Dolly de Leon’s Abigail and I was immediately transfixed by my filipino bias. “What yacht? Where’s the yacht? In the yacht, toilet manager; here, captain. Who am I?” She absolutely owned this movie from that point forward and I couldn’t have been more proud. (I actually may erase Easter Sunday from my memory now.) Loved the final act and actually highly recommend this film.
- craft194727 juillet 2025I don't understand, was it trying to be humorous? cause it fell flat. Took way too long to get to the interesting part of the movie, which starts 1.5 hours into it. Also, felt no attachment to any of the characters. Just when the story could possibly be getting interesting, the story abruptly ends? Come on now... I want my 2.5 hours back.
- jackmeat25 novembre 2025My quick rating - 7.1/10. Another one of the Oscar nominees this year, and one I have no idea what it is about. That scene on the boat during the storm is priceless. I'll digress. The movie presents a captivating story of a group of strangers who meet on a luxurious yacht that takes them on a journey they never imagined. The film cleverly examines the dynamics of the human psyche and how people react under extreme pressure and stress. The characters presented are all quite unique, but one of the highlights of this flick is the outstanding performance by Woody Harrelson, who portrays the captain with a perfect balance of eccentric vulnerability. His interactions with his drunken Russian buddy Dmitry, played by Zlatko Buric, are hilarious, and their on-screen chemistry is remarkable. Director Ruben Östlund's choice to shoot most of the movie on location, including on a deserted island, adds to the realism and authenticity of the film. The movie's cinematography is also noteworthy, especially the stormy scenes at sea, which are visually stunning and provide a great platform for not only the inevitable wreck but also for some of the dark humor that this flick is full of. I can see that this style of humor is going to be pretty hit or miss for some people. By the end, it remains a fascinating and thought-provoking movie that will leave you amused with how the initial Instagram lifestyle, which was presented, devolves by the ambiguous ending 147 minutes later.
