Tombstone Notations et commentaires
- TheSacredAdmirer3 février 2026Nicely done slice of American history, great cast
- naren shenoy10 décembre 2025I’m revisiting this movie after nearly 20 years since my last viewing. I remember as a teenager that grew up with the Spaghetti Westerns, that I had high expectations for this movie, but left the theater feeling a bit underwhelmed. But then everyone kept referencing Val Kilmer in this role, and it became an iconic/pop culture role for him. I watched it again in my early 20s, appreciating it more, but still underwhelmed. Here I am in my 40s and watching it with a different lens. And I loved it. The opening sequence in particular is very reminiscent of the Spaghetti Westerns. And even though I had not seen the movie in decades, I practically echoed “Aw Hell” with Wyatt when Josephine walked in…. so apparently it did sink in, I just did not realize it. I also now appreciate the star studded cast with many actors and actresses becoming household names today. I never saw the other Wyatt Earp so cannot compare the two as many so often do. But I guess that is a commentary in and of itself
- stunder27 novembre 2025One of the best cowboy buddy movies ever
- salazaram16 novembre 2025Best western I’ve seen so far, it has everything. The only thing I didn’t like was that maybe the version that I saw was a theatrical cut because I felt some things just happened suddenly.
- รҡ૨אρƭเ∂12 mars 2025This movie is more than "OK". Sorry new-gens. This is the greatest post-Eastwood modern Western starring some of Hollywood's best in their prime during the greatest entertainment decade in history. "I'll be your Huckleberry..." 9.3/10
- RichMedia26 juin 2025A purebred Daisy from my childhood. ‘You tell ‘em I’m coming, and hell’s coming with me!’ A forever classic.
- blood7001 août 2025It is a tad bit slow in the beginning, but otherwise certainly a masterpiece of the western genre.
- Hot Saucerman1 novembre 2025My Val Kilmer comfort movie. "I'm your huckleberry."
- Matt Romano17 septembre 2025I'll be your huckleberry
- Jason Hensley15 septembre 2025One of the best westerns ever.
- DoggesAndCattes17 avril 20254 out 5 star because Wyatt Earp could have exacted even more righteous revenge but didn't.
- Chad Pohlmeier31 août 2025Classic
- Stairwaytothestars5 août 2025A classic with great, perfect casting! The boys were so purdy back then."You're gonna do somethin' or just stand there and bleed?" TOMBSTONE is much more than just bodies six feet under.
- Doc Holidae2 avril 2025Many people assume that I chose my nickname because of Styles P, but the real inspiration comes from this movie, it's where I decided to call myself "Doc Holidae". It's spelled differently, of course, but 'Tombstone' is my all-time favorite Western of all-time, and Doc Holliday is one of my favorite characters (second only to The Joker)... I’m your huckleberry! 😉 Still think that's one of the coolest scenes in movie history... R.I.P. Val Kilmer!
- Guy Peters31 juillet 2025A Rare Gem in Modern Western Filmmaking Tombstone (1993) stands as a shining rarity in modern Western cinema; a film that not only respects the legacy of the genre but reinvigorates it with style, grit, and unforgettable performances. In an era when Westerns were considered relics of the past, Tombstone boldly saddled up and delivered a compelling, character-driven story that’s equal parts action, drama, and mythmaking. Kurt Russell’s portrayal of Wyatt Earp is commanding and grounded, but it’s Val Kilmer’s Doc Holliday that steals the show; equal parts tragic, hilarious, and lethal. Kilmer’s performance is arguably one of the most iconic in modern Westerns, delivering lines that are endlessly quotable and layered with nuance. The film’s atmosphere is immersive, thanks to stunning cinematography, a hauntingly effective score, and attention to period detail. Director George P. Cosmatos crafts a world that feels lived-in and dangerous, where law and chaos clash in dusty streets and saloons with cinematic ferocity. What makes Tombstone truly rare is its commitment to the spirit of the classic Western while embracing a modern sensibility. It doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel; it sharpens it. It’s operatic without being melodramatic, nostalgic without being stale, and entertaining without sacrificing depth. In short, Tombstone isn’t just a great Western of the 1990s; it’s one of the last great Westerns of the modern era. A cult classic that deserves its place alongside the legends it depicts.
