- Caleb Brian13 février 2026Adding this to my list titled "Old films everyone says are good and they're right to say it". Everything I knew about this film were still images, parody, and the game played with death. But my assumption of what it was, and the reality of what it is were far divorced. For one, I did not expect the comedy in it, nor the tone of the film in general. Bergman explores faith very well here, and with a clear eye to humanity, the simple but exquisite joys of everyday life and the folly we make in search of meaning and place. If you haven't watched The Seventh Seal because you expect a dour and oppressive slog then rethink that. It's a film that explores the best and worst of humanity, and the struggle for meaning we all face before we perform the dance of death.

- ols4715 janvier 2026Plex's depth of library is to be commended. I was in High School when this Ingmar Bergman classic came out. It's subtleties would have escaped me then. The characters' realization of their mortality was chilling.
