Henry Cat takes a youthful member of the mouse family out ostensibly to play with him. Once out of range of the parental eyes, however, and the mouse discovers that Henry took him along only to do the dirty work. Finally, Henry Cat shows how really villainous he is by kidnapping the mouse and holding him for ransom on a desert island. But Mamma Mouse hires a canine Sherlock to restore her child, and Henry is eventually foiled by clever detective work, while Mamma Mouse learns that "It Is Never Safe to Trust the Cruel."
