Carnage Notations et commentaires
- Jordan Jones-2 jI'm often waiting & wondering when we're going to get either a legacy sequel or a remake to this very overlooked & underrated slasher from the 80's!!! Both The Burning 🔥✂️ & Cropsey have so much potential...and the fact this film was never followed up with a sequel was such a wasted opportunity...and yes Friday The 13th was at the peak of its powers at this time but they still could have given us a another film...it wasn't like The Burning 🔥✂️ was a box office bomb or anything. I absolutely love this film its got a really creepy villain in Cropsey and that raft kill sequence is one of the best kill sequences in the history of horror in my mind. My Ratings/Scores for The Burning 🔥✂️ are a 4.5/5 Stars & a 9/10
- jackmeat13 septembre 2025My quick rating - 5.9/10. I vaguely remember watching this one on Showtime back as a kid, and even though I have seen it since on VHS, I saw a Blu-ray just came out uncut and remastered, so I definitely want to check it out. You can also by clicking the poster below. This flick has a very identifiable Friday the 13th feel to it, but then again, it had only been a year since that classic had been released. Certain things I have already noticed that were not a big deal back then are, first, Jason Alexander and Larry Joshua. Not names that ended up known for horror. And a name that is CERTAINLY known for horror, Tom Savini, is taking care of the make-up and effects, which we all know means gore. You will also immediately see another name that goes along with a very different kind of horror: Harvey Weinstein. All of this and you haven't even gotten to the movie itself.

- Kevin Ward12 juillet 2025Out of the gate, it was kind of hard not to be off-put by the Harvey Weinstein story credit. There are definitely some cringy moments in the first half of the film that had me a bit worried about the direction this would head, knowing who was involved. Thankfully, the latter half of the film has the vibe of a proper slasher. The raft killing is particularly good with some excellent gore effects. Really loved the low angle shot of the killer with the raised shears in the sunlight (sort of echoed on the movie poster). Lots of familiar (young) faces which is always fun in a watch like this. Jason Alexander, Holly Hunter, and Fisher Stevens (thankfully not in brownface). I definitely need some new garden shears, though, because mine won’t cut for shit, but the killer’s seemed to slice through everything like butter.
