I’m pleasantly surprised. It was a bit corny at times and had way too many corporate sponsor synergy moments, but I LOLed a ton and the supporting cast was really really funny. Jost and Forte saved the movie imo. I think you should stream it when it’s on the airplane.

Example of why bad stand up comics need to find another job

Had it’s funny parts, was good for a watch. Definitely worth it at least once especially if you are a fan of Nate Bargatze.

Its an indie film and it shows, but overall a funny and good family movie. I can definitely relate to this guy as a dad myself.

The movie was fine. Chuckles here and there. Now, I'm a dad...a single dad, I absolutely hate how men are shown to be absolute idiots when it comes to taking care of their children and the house. I know that in this particular movie, the things he does are based on his stand-up. But I have been around for nearly 40yrs, so I have seen my fair share of movies and TV shows, showing how dumb fathers are at taking care of their children and the house. I will say this, even though we are in this "girl boss" era, I was happy to see that the mother didn't let that get to her head, like a lot of other movies and TV shows. I think she was actually written like a character who is trying to make that transition from housewife to business starter.

This is a dumb movie and my family and I love it anyway. "My big dumb eyes." "Horses sleep on their side?"

I liked it, it’s funny and fun for the whole family. Definitely has some problems but I found myself laughing out loud several times, worth a watch

This was fine, I suppose, but it’s tired premise of dad’s don’t know how to raise kids / manage a household is just, well, tired. I actually really like Nate Bargatze’s standup acts. He may even be one of my favorite working comics at the moment. But the comedy that works for his act, doesn’t necessary translate well to the protagonist of a feature film. It all feels much more like a sitcom than a feature.

I love Nate (and my mom loves him even more). He obviously has comedic chops so I’m excited for his future but this is a pretty basic family comedy with not a lot of substance. Incredible cast. Loved seeing Martin Herlihy getting even more screen time and Will Forte was of course hilarious Needed more Kate Berlant for sure! Felt like she was wasted as a cast member The big Wal-Mart tie-in was pretty embarrassing. The Sour Patch Kids, KFC, and NFL tie-ins were slightly less egregious. Very silly! The emotional themes get a little tangled amidst a convoluted and emotionally contradicting climax, but at least it was quite humorous! My mom cried and “liked it A LOT.” Watched at Warren Regal East with my mommy Currently Ranked #50/83 in 2026 Ranked

    Burning money must be nice

Stale stand up turned into a 1980's remake. Made for the mindless masses who think this qualifies as entertainment. Because nobody has a working brain, or cinema savy these days.

Who should get money working the same job?

I think the job description should be the same for male or female. Their job performance should be priority no matter what your gender.
