For a strong, but not isolated, example of the damage caused by this intentionally disorienting editing choice; with the chase sequence at about 1:40 , it obscures the clever storyboarding and reduces Kirill from a worthy, intelligent, and tactical opponent to a terminator-style persistent persuer.
- tellum24 août 2026Your mileage may vary based on the manic cuts and weird zooms during action scenes. For me it was too noticeable, especially in the car chase scene which could’ve been better than the first movie, but it was edited into oblivion.

Bourne is constantly checking sightlines, looking for exits, and planning his next step. With the help of an illustrious Matt Damon and fantastic camera placements, we see the gears turning in his mind. When the pressure is most intense, his analysis becomes instinct, ratcheting faster. Every input – every cut – changes the potential action of his character.

Everything moves with this low-key urgency, like something’s always about to go wrong even in the quiet scenes. Still super tight and focused — no fluff, no unnecessary detours. The way it handles action is messy in a realistic way but never confusing, which is kind of impressive considering how much is going on. Matt Damon keeps it really understated again, which works perfectly for this kind of story. He doesn’t say much, but you always get what he’s dealing with. And once it gets going, it just doesn’t really let up.
