It was a bit dated and slightly corny, but still ok for it's time.

Swamp Thing (1982), directed by Wes Craven, is a cult comic-book adaptation that blends horror, fantasy, and campy charm. While the film’s budget limitations are evident, particularly in the design of the titular creature, the overall production delivers more entertainment than one might expect. The cast is a highlight: Adrienne Barbeau brings strength and vulnerability to her role, while Louis Jourdan elevates the villain with his commanding presence and sly charisma. The practical effects, though dated, contribute to the film’s quirky appeal, and the swampy atmosphere adds a layer of gothic moodiness. Craven’s direction keeps the pace lively, balancing action with moments of humor and melodrama. Though the Swamp Thing himself could have looked better, the film remains enjoyable for fans of pulp storytelling and comic adaptations. Imperfect yet endearing, Swamp Thing stands as a fun, nostalgic entry in early superhero cinema.

My quick rating - 5.2/10. This is another one I remember watching on the Showtime box before cable was a thing. There is one thing that caught my eye this time around that I didn't care about when I was 9 years old, written/directed by Wes Craven!!! You would think after hooking Adrienne Barbeau to play the damsel in distress, they would've thrown a bit more money at the budget. I still enjoyed it for what it was worth. A campy superhero flick that most people may not realize is even a superhero flick.
