Invisibly they are moving between the exhibits at the Pinakothek der Moderne (one of the worlds biggest museums for contemporary art, located in Munich). They are not allowed to sit or to read - they are the Guardians of the Arts. They make sure that nobody touches anything, they switch of the sharp sounding alarm nearly a hundred times a day, if a visitor comes to close to a painting and they are observing the visitors. Who is affected by the art and who was dragged along the museum by his wife and kids and would have preferred staying at home on the couch? 'Supervision' avoids asking for reasons or what happened before in the protagonists lives. The Film observes them here and now, always in their supervising function.
