Horror is inherently overpowering when you mix genres so I think there was a lot of skill in putting romance at the forefront of the movie. Loving someone is both an irreducibly human experience as well as an unknowable cosmic horror.

TLDR: Overall, I highly recommend this movie for a cozy date night when you want something a little different—a romantic horror that actually delivers on both sides of the equation. I’ve always been a fan of the dark, twisted side of horror—not necessarily the gruesome, gory kind, but the type with a strong storyline, well‑timed jump scares, and an atmosphere that gets under your skin. That said, I’m also not opposed to the occasional chick flick or romantic comedy when it’s movie night with my loved one. Spring manages to blend those two worlds in a way that makes it a perfect “his & hers” pick. What really pulled me in was how quickly the film builds empathy for the main character without dragging its feet. I expected a slow burn, but the pacing surprised me—in a good way. The movie develops its characters and plot just enough to keep things moving without bogging you down. Without giving away spoilers, I will say the big reveal felt a bit rushed and slightly cheesy, but the story still lands with a satisfying sense of closure. If you’re into films like: • Let the Right One In • Byzantium • Tales from the Darkside – Lover’s Vow …then I think Spring will be right up your alley.

This has been the most interesting story in a horror movie I can remember since I used to watch Hammer Films. It's the Sweetest Horror movie, and I'm glad Tubi suggested it...
