- Richard Colbert-2 jIt's a decent 'jump scare' romp. I have the 'unfortunate' history of having watched TOO many horror movies (and I mean original Italian ACTUAL horror films from Fulchi to Argento to Hammer Horror, and everything in between). My 'bonus Mom' managed a video store in the 80's and 90's. I know EVERY trope, EVERY rule, EVERY twist (the ones you think are original, AREN'T). Still, credit where it's due, Craven was a master for a reason (RIP, Wes).
- Grace30 juin 2026I'm a huge fan of the Scream franchise, so this movie really does not disappoint. I've binge watched the entirety of all the scream movies because they are that good. However, after the first one it becomes repetitive. This movie has some of my favorite actors in it, so my opinion on the acting may be biased 🤣. But overall it's a great movie. I wouldn't recommend any further down the line since it's the exact same plot.

Weaknesses: Some Gore is Minimal: Compared to other 90s slashers, the gore is relatively restrained. Predictable for Horror Buffs: Viewers familiar with slasher tropes may guess certain twists, though the film plays with these expectations. Overall: Scream (1996) is a revolutionary slasher that revitalized the genre. It’s clever, suspenseful, and self-aware, combining horror, humor, and mystery. Ghostface remains one of the most iconic villains in horror cinema.
